When the student is ready - the teacher will appear

That title sounds leaded with meaning?! Well, it is! In so many ways this is true, because as you go through life you meet so many people who really do have a lot to teach you, but unless you're open, ready, in the 'right place' to listen, absorb and take on the advice of those people, you won't learn from them. BUT when you'ree in the RIGHT place, the magic happens. And it's true of so many things in life, not just 'teachers' in the commonly understood sense of the word, sometimes it's the unpleasant people who are our most valuable teachers, because what we can learn from them truely can help us grow into better people. People you bump into and make one small comment can teach you LOADS, and of course, a true teacher will be a support system for years - mind, body and soul.

On that note - I met a new and brilliant teacher recently!! In Cairo I had a great circle of Yoga friends, and a brillaint teacher running classes just 3 minutes walk from where I was living - perfect!! Now back in the UK I went in search of a Yoga teacher. And I hit upon the perfect match for me right away.

New to the area (like me) Marie Ganfield (click here or on image for link) runs small groups and inndividual sessions on the outskirts of Shaftesbury. I totally loved her method, she 'read' me and my body perfectly, and my second class with her was utterly fabulous, I woke up the next morning feeling like one of those girls from a yoga instagram feed!! I don't practise yoga like a 'real' yogi (i.e. I manage it about one a week or fortnight, not everyday!, but I love it, I know what it does for me (all good) and I know that I want to be doing yoga for as long as I am walking about this planet! My teacher(s) in Cairo were wonderful, and I knew I wanted to take a step up and really focus on how I feel and move on my yoga mat - really connect with the asanas and really find the best place in me for my body in each pose and move - and Marie is helping me achieve that.

Class #3 for me tonight!!
